A new Beach website
www.thegrandbendbeach.com was introduced in August, 2011 as another co-operative effort between the Grand Bend Rotary Club and the Municipality of Lambton Shores. It is meant to give both local residents and visitors general information about the Grand Bend Beach as well as water and weather conditions.

This website results after discussions between Rotary’s Clean Water Now committee and the municipality of Lambton Shores. Rotary offered to construct the website and then turn it over to Lambton Shores who will maintain and update the ongoing information. Also it is planned to enhance and add more features and information to the site in the near future.

The website was constructed by Jason Pembleton of Toronto who also built Rotary’s www.thegrandbendbeach.com website. Also the main menu contains photography provided by local artist, David Bannister as well as a webcam shot courtesy of the Grand Bend Yacht club.

The water information reports the latest lake water E.coli readings. Because it takes several days to get the water sample test results back from the lab, this can not be for the current date. However; Lambton Shores is presently studying and compiling information using past E.coli results as well as wind, water and other environmental information collected from weather stations and the SWIM monitor in front of the beach house (see picture) and they hope to be in a position in coming years to predict the swimmable conditions in real time.
